Invisalign Near You
Adults and many teens with misaligned teeth would prefer to correct their smile without metal braces. Invisalign treatment is an excellent alternative, especially since it can be up to 50 percent faster. When you use clear aligners, custom-fit to your teeth, no one will even realize you are using braces and you can gain the smile you have always wanted.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Aligners gently shift the position of your teeth, moving them in any direction necessary. They send the right amount of pressure to each tooth at the right time. You will probably receive a new set of aligners every week for continuous treatment.
Who Can Receive Invisalign Treatment?
Aligners are able to correct many teeth problems, including:
– Gaps between teeth.
– Overbite, when the upper teeth extend past the lower teeth.
– Underbite, when the lower teeth jut out past the upper teeth.
– Open bite, when the upper and lower teeth are unable to meet.
– Teeth crowding.
– Cross bite, caused by a misalignment of both the upper and lower jaw.
The Invisalign Procedure
The process for receiving Invisalign starts with a consultation with your dentist, who will assess you for suitability for the treatment. If aligners would work for you, your dentist will take impressions of your teeth and use these to create a custom treatment plan. This will determine how your teeth need to move each week and how long the treatment will last.
You will return to the clinic when your aligners are ready. Usually, your dentist will recommend you wear them for at least 20 to 22 hours per day, removing them just to eat and brush your teeth. You will need to return for regular appointments to check your progress around every six weeks.
